TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Director of PT Transjakarta Welfizon Yuza stated that ticket fares post the implementation of account-based ticketing (ABT) will be tailored to the customer's economic status and domicile.

"The next [step] for ABT, like anywhere in the world, will target subsidy more accurately," Welfizon said to Tempo on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. The reason for that is, he added, that the data is integrated with Jakarta's population data registered through the population and civil registry or Dukcapil.

"For example, people with a certain amount of income will have to pay for the non-subsidized ticket. Meaning, if the production fee of Transjakarta is Rp15,000, they will pay as much," said Welfizon.

Additionally, a passenger who was categorized as underprivileged in the regional civil registration data would be eligible for a discounted fare ranging from 15 percent to 100 percent.

However, this policy will be implemented only for Jakarta ID holders. For passengers with ID card domicile outside of Jakarta, the underprivileged category will have to comply with the provincial government's policy.

"For non-Jakarta ID holders, the [Transjakarta] fares will be different from Jakarta ID holders. This is made possible with the account-based ticketing," he stated.

The initial phase of this policy is implemented through a limited trial run of the JakLingko Indonesia mobile application.
