TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Kereta Api Indonesia China (KCIC), the consortium responsible for the construction of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train, ensured that the construction of the train’s infrastructure was carried out safely and in accordance with established standards. The project was also closely monitored as the 1423 km train was designed to last up to 100 years.

KCIC GM Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa said that every step of the development was tested and checked, and the specifications and construction standards were strictly monitored by various parties.

"During the construction progress, every infrastructure development was carried out with full care and multi-layered supervision. so that the high-speed train infrastructure meets the established standards and is safe to use,” Eva said in a written statement quoted on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.

In addition to testing and inspection by independent consultants, KCIC also collaborated with the Tunnel and Bridge Road Safety Commission (KKJTJ) of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing to test the structural design, safety, and feasibility of the bullet train bridges and tunnels.

KCIC also worked in synergy with the Transportation Ministry to issue operating permits for fast train infrastructure. This was one part of ensuring that all infrastructure was in a safe and proper condition to serve the community.

“We are serious about the quality of the fast train infrastructure,” Eva said, emphasizing that KCIC prioritized good corporate governance in the project of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train.
