TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta-based low-cost carrier Batik Air announced the launch of a new direct flight from Jakarta to Perth, Australia, starting September 21, 2023. The airline, which is part of Lion Air Group, was determined to strengthen its commitment to providing the best flying experience for business travelers and tourists.

The airline’s spokesperson Danang Mandala Prihantoro explained that the flight would be operated by Boeing 737-800NG and Airbus 320 aircraft. “The fleets offer high-quality facilities and services,” he said in a written statement quoted on Monday, August 14, 2023.

In addition, in-flight food and entertainment are available for passengers and can be reserved through www.batikair.com, the Batik Air mobile app, and travel agents (offline and online).

Flight number ID-6080 will depart at 18:55 Jakarta time and arrive at 00:20 Perth time. Meanwhile, the Perth-Jakarta route comes with flight number ID-6081, departing at 01:50 Perth time and arriving at 04:55 Jakarta time. The flight is available seven times a week.

Danang also said the direct flight was launched in order to increase connectivity and cooperation between the two countries, as well as to promote the growth of the tourism industry.

Batik Air serves domestic flights at Terminal 2D and international flights, including to Perth, at Terminal 2F of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. “This initiative strengthens the role of Soekarno-Hatta Airport as one of the world's leading aviation hubs by focusing on providing the best experience for service users,” Danang concluded.
