Police Confiscates Rp2T Fraudulent Trading Robot Net89

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Directorate of Financial Crime of the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) has confiscated the evidence related to the alleged Rp2 trillion trading robot Net89 fraud case.

The Head of the Information Bureau of the National Police Public Relations Division Brigade General Ahmad Ramadhan said that the operation is done in several cities such as Jakarta, Bali, Riau, Surabaya, Batam, and Bandung. "We are still investigating the alleged fraud case," said Ramadhan during a press conference on Friday, July 21, 2023.

Meanwhile, the two main suspects in the case, the owners of PT Simbiotik Multitalenta Indonesia or owners of Net89, Andreas Andreyanto (AA) and Law Swan Hie Samuel (LSH) are currently on the police wanted list. "They are subjects to Interpol red notice," said Ramadhan.

Previously, the police have notified the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Interpol, and the Ministry of Law and Human Rights to confirm that the two suspects ran away. The Deputy Head of the Financial Crime Directorate Bareskrim Chief Commissioner Chandra Sukma Kumara said that the two suspects have changed citizenship. "That was the information we received, but we need to confirm that," said Chandra, on Thursday, July 20, 2023.

In total, there are 13 suspects in the trading robot Net89 fraud case, with one of the suspects HS has passed away, and the two fugitives AA and LSH. Meanwhile, the other suspects are IR, ESI, DI, YW, AR, RS, MA, ES, FI, D, and AL.

The police started this investigation due to 13 reports submitted concerning this case. The damage was estimated to reach Rp700 billion. However, the Director of General Crimes Bareskrim Brigade General Whisnu Hermawan said that according to the calculation of a Public Accounting Firm, the damage estimation was Rp326 billion.
