TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - AwanPintar, a Cloud Security Engine by PT Prosperita Sistem Indonesia, developed a map dashboard of cyber threats in Indonesia. The dashboard revealed the intensity of the cyber threat, the domicile of the perpetrators, and other specific information. "My concern is the fact that we do not have enough valid national data," said the Founder of AwanPintar.id and the Chief Technology Officer of PT Prosperita Sistem Indonesia, Yudhi Kukuh, to the media in Jakarta, on July 12, 2023.

He showed a dashboard with the world map on it, with several lines coming toward Jakarta, as Indonesia's representative. "The data I'm showing here are real-time," he explained.

Around the map are many boxes filled with information, for example, the number of threats per hour. From the 24-hour data, the highest number of attacks happened at 15:00 p.m. with 934,686 attacks. Followed by 16:00 p.m. with 759,534 attacks. The perpetrators mainly came from five countries, as shown in the data, with the US at 30%, India at 23%, Vietnam at 18%, Indonesia at 15%, and China at 14%. Domestically, Jakarta is in first place with 29%, Depok at 11%, Bandung at 9%, Tangerang at 7%, and Surabaya at 6%. The source of the malware was also recorded and shown.

With a censor located in Indonesia's national network, Awan Pintar.id will detect cyber threats in Indonesia, from abroad or domestically. The censor is passive and independent, meaning it will detect threat inputs globally if pointed specifically at the censors. AwanPintar's censor does not need monitoring technology such as SPAN/Port Monitoring, Net Flow, IPFI, or iFLOW to avoid intentional data feed. By distributing the censors all over Indonesia's network, AwanPintar will be able to do sampling from various IPs in AS Numbers to gain comprehensive data.

Yudhi also said PT Prosperita Sistem Indonesia is planning to release a cyber threat report per semester as a form of responsibility and concern toward Indonesia's cyber security. "Prosperita through AwanPintar will actively participate in maintaining digital sovereignty in Indonesia," he explained.

Meanwhile, National Cyber and Crypto Agency Spokesperson Ariandi Putra said that the responsibility to protect cyberspace falls to all parties, the government and private entities. "Only by protecting cyberspace to keep it safe will Indonesia achieve a complete digital sovereignty," said Ariandi quoting President Jokowi's recommendation. He reminded that data is an intangible resource and has to be protected entirely for digital sovereignty in Indonesia.
