BMKG Forecasts Today's Air Temperature Hit 35C in Certain Regions

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued a weather forecast for today, April 18. The air temperature is rising as the country is entering the dry season.
The agency estimated that the air temperature will reach 35 degrees Celsius in Medan City, while the lowest at 20 degrees Celsius will be in Bandung City.
Rain accompanied by lightning was predicted to hit Jambi and Surabaya. Moderate-intensity rain was possible to drench Serang City, Bandung, and Pangkal Pinang.
Besides, light rain will likely shower Pontianak, Palangka Raya, Kupang, Jayapura, Manokwari, Pekanbaru, Makassar, Kendari, and Palembang.
There is no prediction of heavy rain for Indonesian cities today. There is also no early warning of hydrometeorological disaster issued due to the potential impact of rain.
However, BMKG called on the people to be alert for tidal floods which are possible across the coast of Bangka Belitung, the coast of North Sumatra (Belawan Coast and its surroundings), the coast of Aceh (Sabang Coast, Meulaboh), the coast of the Riau Islands (Karimun Coast, Dabo, Batu Ampar, Tanjung Uban Coast), the coast of NTT, the coast of North Sulawesi (Coastal Manado and Bitung).
