TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Low-cost carrier Batik Air announced a new international route to China’s Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport which will start operating on March 26, 2023.

“With a scheduled frequency of regular flight 7 times a week,” said the airline’s spokesperson, Danang Mandala Prihantoro, on Friday, March 10.

The subsidiary of low-cost carrier Lion Air will operate Boeing 737-800NG aircraft consisting of 12 business class seats and 150 economy class seats. “This fleet is the latest generation sent from the aircraft manufacturer,” Danang added.

The flight is available from Kualanamu International Airport in Medan, North Sumatra (KNO), Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang (CGK), Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA), Juanda International Airport in Surabaya, East Java (SUB), I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali (DPS), and Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Makassar, South Sulawesi (UPG).

“Businessmen and tourists coming from other cities can choose domestic flights through one of the six airports to continue their flight to Guangzhou,” said Danang.

For ticket prices, Danang guaranteed more affordable prices with full-service airlines.

Batik Air hoped that the new Indonesia - China’s Guangzhou route can meet the needs of tourists and business people to travel between cities more easily and comfortably.
