TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After many years of going through a long pandemic, the annual toys and comics exhibition was finally held again with the opening of Jakarta 18th Toys & Comics Fair 2023. This grand event was held at the SMESCO Exhibition Hall, Jakarta on March 4 to 5, 2023.

The entrance ticket price for this pop culture exhibition was quite affordable, which was Rp50,000. In the event, many 'pop culture' fans such as toy collectors, movie buffs, gamers, and anime, manga, and comic communities gathered, exchanging information, and made trades around their hobbies.

This event involved many retailers, suppliers, distributors, and independent toy shops from several big cities in Indonesia, such as Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Semarang, and Surabaya.

The event was filled with 150 toys and comic booths, and was enlivened by performance of cosplay, idol and anime song performances, and rare toy auctions.

The types of products displayed at this event range from action figures, model kits, Lego, trading cards, memorabilia, board games, to rockabillia.

A number of known comic artists also enlivened the event, which were Sacred Squad Studios, Jagad Astral, Fumanoid, Sync Toys, Skylar Comics (Volt, Valentine).

Head of SACCA Production, Riza Satyagraha, the promoter of this big event, said that since last year's pandemic times, the category of hobbies and toys became the highest-selling categories in the e-commerce. "This motivated us to keep on supporting the Indonesian creative industries by providing them a place to trade, by holding out this event," he added.

Riza hoped that his team could inspired more people to keep on supporting the country's creative industries.
