TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - One of the leading tourist events in the city of Yogyakarta, the Yogyakarta Chinese Culture Week (PBTY), will be held again in January 2023. The event previously held online in 2021 and 2022, but it will now be held offline for a whole week from January 30 to February 5, 2023 in Ketandan Village, Jalan Malioboro.

"This year's event will be held as before the pandemic, there will be various attractions and carnivals that visitors can enjoy for a week," said PBTY XVIII 2023, Chief Executive Sugiarto after meeting the city Governor, Sri Sultan HB X in Yogyakarta, Tuesday, January 3, 2023

Ketandan Village will certainly return to life every afternoon until the evening, offering various cuisines. Sugiarto said that no less than 250 food stalls are ready to serve diverse delicacies to visitors along Jalan Ketandan Wetan to Ketandan Kulon.

"There will be a carnival for approximately three hours on Jalan Malioboro at this event," said Sugiarto. He further added that the carnival would be held on February 4, 2023, starting at 17:30 WIB (Western Indonesian Time).

The PBTY XVIII 2023 event was initiated by 18 Chinese communities in Yogyakarta. During the event, representatives of the association will also hold various activities, ranging from art and cultural performances to various competitions, exhibitions, bazaars and art stages. "We hope that this PBTY event that is held offline can further stimulate the tourism and economic sectors in Yogyakarta after the Covid-19 pandemic," he said.
