Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrives in Bali for G20 Summit

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived in Bali, on Monday, November 14 for a gathering of leaders from the G20 countries. Mr. Trudeau arrived on board the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) and landed at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport around 15:25 local time, less than half an hour after China's President Xi Jinping landed in Bali.

Mr. Trudeau came to Bali directly after attending the summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from November 10-13.

More heads of states and government representatives of G20 members are expected to arrive in Bali until tonight.

In addition to Mr. Trudeau, and Mr. Xi, world leaders who are expected to arrive today are Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

PM Albanese said via his Twitter account @AlboMP that over the coming days, I'll be holding meetings with leaders from Indonesia, China, France, India, the UK, and others.

"Leaders from the world's largest economies are meeting at the G20 in Bali to find solutions to our shared challenges," the tweet said.

Early this morning, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida arrived in Bali. Indonesia is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Japan today.

Meanwhile, United States President Joe Biden and President Yoon Suk Yeol have been in Bali since Sunday night. President Joko Widodo and President Biden are scheduled for a bilateral meeting today.

At least 17 heads of state and government representatives will attend the 17th G20 Summit in Apurva, Kempinski Hotel, Bali.

The G20 Indonesia presidency's motto is 'Recover Together, Recover Stronger' with three main agendas: global health architecture, digital transformation and sustainable energy transition.
