Suspects of Police Murder Case Detained in Separate Facilities

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The case files and suspect status of former internal affairs deputy Ferdy Sambo on Wednesday, October 5, have been officially handed over to the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) in relation to the premeditated murder of Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat, who was Sambo’s personal aide.

Both Sambo and his wife who is incriminated in the murder case, Putri Chandrawati, arrived at the AGO’s Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes headquarters wearing inmate attributes. Other suspects in the case were yet to be seen.

Deputy Attorney General Fadil Zumhana said the suspects will be detained in three separate facilities in order to accommodate the court proceedings and “To better transport the suspects to the court,” he added.

Those who will be detained at the Police Mobile Brigade's main headquarters are Ferdy Sambo, Hendra Kurniawan, Agus Nurpatria, and Arif Rachman. While other suspects incriminated for obstruction of justice will be detained at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim) penitentiary.

Meanwhile, Sambo’s wife Chandrawati will be detained at the Salemba Penitentiary which is a branch of the Attorney General’s Office.

Ferdy Sambo and other suspects of the premeditated case will face charges under Article 340 of the Criminal Code.
