TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police have spoken up about the alleged link of the Konsorsium 303 or Consortium 303 of Ferdy Sambo with the human trafficking case abroad. The police’s spokesperson Nurul Azizah asserted that her side is still focusing on the main case of premeditated murder against Brigadier J alias Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat.

Sambo, the former chief of the police’s internal affairs, was suspected to have masterminded the murder. Following the murder investigation, issues about Sambo’s gambling empire, Consortium 303, widely circulated on social media.

“[We] focus on the main case,” said Nurul when contacted on Thursday, September 22, 2022.

She refused to answer in detail why the National Police did not launch an investigation on the alleged existence of Indonesian citizens abroad who were connected to this gambling mafia.

Previously reported, the chairperson of the Migrant Care Migration Study Center, Anis Hidayah, said there are suspicions that the human trafficking case in Cambodia could be linked to Consortium 303.

“We suspect that some of the victims were linked to Consortium 303. The network is connected, including the consortium,” said Anis during the discussion on human trafficking held at the US Embassy in Jakarta, Wednesday, September 21.

Meanwhile, Ferdy Sambo's lawyer Arman Hanish denied issues that Consortium 303 was led by his client. Instead, he questioned the source of the information. “Just ask them if it's true or not. As far as I know, the information is not true,” said Arman on August 27, 2022.
