Indonesia Prepares 6,161 Electric Vehicles for G20 Summit in Bali

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government has provided 6,161 electric vehicles to be used by delegates and security personnel at the G20 Summit in Bali on November 15-16. The international event will fully utilize electric vehicles as a mode of transportation.

"There are several types of cars, motorcycles, from Genesis, there are also from Hyundai, Wuling, Lexus," Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said when inspecting a public EV charging station (SPKLU) in Nusa Dua, as reported by Antara, August 31.

Each country participating in the G20 Summit will be allocated 15 electric cars comprising 10 sets for VVIP guests and five sets for heads of state. The electric cars are the Genesis G80 (123 units), the Hyundai Ioniq 5 (246 units), the Hyundai Ioniq EV (124 units), and the Lexus UX 300e (123 units).

Indonesia is also preparing 290 units of electric motorcycles for escort patrol vehicles and 300 units of Wuling Air EV as operational vehicles.

In addition to the EVs, the government has also prepared hundreds of charging stations, including 28 stations at the Apurva Kempinski Hotel and 36 at the Central Park ITDC Nusa.
