TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - West Java's Depok City Administration held a fashion show competition dubbed 'Depok Culture Fashion Show' to celebrate the 77th anniversary of Indonesian independence day.

The event was participated by the state civil apparatus (ASN), Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP), and the Family Welfare Empowerment Team (TP-PKK) of Depok City.

The Chairman of the Committee for the 77th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in Depok City Abdul Rahman explained on Saturday that the competition was held in three categories. They were a fashion show for regional heads, ASN, and casual performances from PKK and DWP.

"Each wears kebaya encim and pangsi with Depok Batik theme," he said Saturday, August 13, Antara reported.

Abdul Rahman, or Abra, said that the fashion show aimed at promoting Depok-data-style batik to the public, as well as introducing Depok's traditional clothes.

The peak event would be held on August 17, which are the penyerahan of trophy for the fashion show winners.
