TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The communication and informatics minister Johnny G Plate said that 22 telecommunication towers near the Borobudur Temple area in Magelang, Central Java, will be reorganized as part of the infrastructure rearrangement of the super-priority destination.
The height of 22 telecommunication towers located within 5 kilometers radius of the Borobudur Temple will be set to the same level as the Arupadhatu terrace (the highest floor) of the Borobudur Temple. It is around 283 meters above sea level.
The minister and his entourage visited the temple intending to implement the reorganization of the Borobudur Temple area so that it becomes an integrated area, has a new face, new management, and new supporting infrastructure.
"The rearrangement of the Borobudur Temple area is carried out thoroughly including the physical infrastructure, roads, and digital infrastructure," Johnny said Minister Johnny during his visit to Borobudur as stated in a written statement on Thursday, July 14.
The entourage checked the height of the towers from the highest floor of the Buddhist temple. The working visit aimed at confirming and seeing the physical infrastructures that need to be reorganized.
He viewed that both cellular and telecommunication operators share the same commitment to redesign the communication tower in the Borobudur Temple area.
Johnny said that the rearrangement at Borobudur Temple would not be done solely for the sake of cultural heritage, but also as part of the tourism industry. This is in line with the instruction of President Joko Widodo who said that the rearrangement of cultural heritage sites must be taken seriously so that the development into a super priority destination can also be achieved.
