TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said the provincial government will not hire rain-diverting shaman during the upcoming Formula E in Ancol given that the international electric motor racing will be held on June 4, which will already enter the dry season.

According to him, the organizers adjusted the preparations according to the weather season at that time. “[For example] on how to manage it well when it is in the rainy season,” said Riza at the City Hall, Monday, March 21.

Riza hoped that there will be no rain during the international agenda as it is not held in the rainy season.

In the Mandalika MotoGP race, rain shaman Rara Isti Wulandari's action went viral and drew the public spotlight. The woman was seen walking around the circuit carrying a singing bowl, hitting it, and shouting towards the sky.

Though the city will not use the services of a rain shaman, Riza ensured that he will implement the synergy of the organizers of the Mandalika MotoGP at the Jakarta Formula E event. “The lesson we have learned is that all parties need to collaborate and synergize so we can present an international agenda we are proud of,” he emphasized.

Riza hoped that Formula E Jakarta will also run successfully as the Mandalika MotoGP in Lombok of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) and help the tourism sector bounce back.
