TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria has spoken up about the ballooning construction budget for the Formula E racing track from Rp50 billion to Rp60 billion.
“There is indeed an increase in the budget to Rp60 billion because the circuit is made permanent,” said Riza in Jakarta, Monday, March 7.
According to him, the permanent circuit can be used for other automotive events, not only the international electric car racing event.
“It is Jakpro's responsibility to ensure that the circuit is made as good as possible to meet the existing standards,” Riza added.
City-owned developer PT Jakarta Propertindo initially allocated a budget of Rp50 billion for the construction of the Jakarta E-Prix circuit. This was published on its official page, eproc.jakarta-propertindo, which noted that the self-estimated price (HPS) at Rp50.15 billion.
The budget hike for the 2.4-kilometer race track was confirmed by the project manager of the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) from PT Jaya Konstruksi Manggala Pratama, Ari Wibowo.
Ari said the budget was spent entirely on the construction of the Formula E track. “Our budget at the current stage is still at Rp60 billion,” said Ari in Ancol, Sunday, March 6.
