TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bogor Mayor Bima Arya announced that limited face-to-face learning or PTM will be resumed in the city next week as COVID-19 cases continued to decline.

“COVID-19 keeps declining so we will reopen PTM … next week,” said Bima during a coordination meeting with all staffers of the city administration in Heulang Park, Bogor City, Tuesday, March 15.

The transmission of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 in Bogor has passed its peak, which reached 1,117 daily positive cases in February 2022. The figure continued to plummet to 90 cases per day recently in March.

On that basis, Bima said he took the decision to reallow on-site studies during the enforcement of the public mobility restrictions or PPKM Level 2 in the city. The reopening of schools, however, will be under strict health protocols in an effort to curb virus transmission.

Bogor Education Agency Head Hanafi added that the limited PTM will be opened at 50 percent of the total capacity of the students’ seats. The agency thus immediately delivered letters to schools to prepare facilities to support the required health protocols.

Hanafi went on to say that the upcoming limited face-to-face learning will be different than that of the previous one as it will be applied for all grades.
