TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Face-to-face learning activity (PTM) in Bekasi city will be applied under 50% capacity restriction to prevent further spreading of the Covid-19 Omicron virus among students.
"It was supposed to start on Friday, February 4, 2022, but the letter was a little late so it will begin on Monday, February 7, 2022, with a scheme of 50 percent face-to-face and 50 percent remote learning," said acting Mayor of Bekasi Tri Adhianto on Saturday, 5 February, 2022.
Tri said that the 50 percent PTM policy was based on Acting Mayor of Bekasi Circular Letter No. 421/1022/SETDA.TU on Guideline for the Implementation if Teaching activities during Level 2 PPKM of Covid-19 ("Circular Letter"), which was issued as a follow up to the Ministry of Culture, Research and Technology Circular Letter No.2 of 2022 concerning Discretion on the Implementation of Joint Ministerial Decree.
"In this matter, parents or guardians of the students will be provided with options to allow their children to take part in the limited PTM or PJJ (Remote Learning)," Tri said.
Tri said that the policy will be applied to all education levels starting from pre-school to senior high school.
"Although in terms of responsibility, the development of Senior High School is the responsibility of the provincial government, but because the school is here [in Bekasi] they follow the rules set in Bekasi City," Tri said.
Tri requested the Bekasi City Education Agency to coordinate with respective stakeholders to conduct monitoring and development on the implementation of the 50 percent PTM policy.
Starting by ensuring the implementation of strict health protocol by education units in Bekasi City, the implementation of compliance survey against health protocol and epidemiology surveillance in every education unit.
Followed by the acceleration of Covid-19 vaccination for teachers, education staff, and students, and to ensure the temporary suspension of limited PTM based on results of epidemiology surveillance pursuant to the provisions stated in the joint ministerial decree.
With the enactment of the Circular Letter, Tri said, the Bekasi Mayor Circular Letter No. 421/936/Disdik.Set concerning the implementation of limited PTM for 2021/2022 academic year is declared revoked.
