TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police's Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim) named a social media influencer Indra Kenz a suspect in a case related to the binary option trading platform Binomo.

The suspect determination was revealed from the Notice of Commencement of Investigation received by the Attorney General's Office (AGO).

“The Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes at AGO has received a Notice of Commencement of Investigation (SPDP),” said AGO’s spokesman Leonard Eben Ezer Simanjuntak in a written statement, Thursday, Feb. 24.

The SPDP was issued by the Directorate of Economic and Special Crimes of the Bareskrim following the alleged crime of online gambling and the spread of false news through electronic media. In addition, the letter was issued in cases of fraud and money laundering.

Leonard said the letter was issued on Feb. 21, and received by the Secretariat of the Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes on Tuesday, Feb. 22.

Tempo is still exploring the basis for the determination of the suspect and seeking explanations from the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit.
