TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Prosecutors demanded six years of imprisonment for the two police officers charged with the killing of FPI or Islamic Defenders' Front members. The indictment hearing was held on Tuesday, February 22 at the South Jakarta Court.

The two suspects in the case of unlawful killing, First Police Brigadier (Briptu) Fikri Ramadhan and Second Police Inspector (Ipda) Mohammad Yusmin Ohorella, were read out by prosecutors separately, quoted by Antara. But the two prosecutors, Fadjar and Paris Manalu, both said that Fikri and Yusmin were proven to have violated Article 338 of the Criminal Code.

The two prosecutors demanded the panel of judges to give Fikri and Yusmin a prison sentence of 6 years and asked for the immediate detention of both defendants.

Prosecutors also asked the judges to give a court order for returning some evidence to the Jakarta Metro Police. Some evidence was destroyed, and others were asked to remain in the case file.

Henry Yosodiningrat, the coordinator of the defendants' legal advisory team, said that his client would file a plea at the next trial.

Fikri and Yusmin are tried for the unlawful act of killing four members of FPI when they were being taken to the Jakarta Metro Police on December 7, 2020.

The four FPI members were shot in the police car. Their names are Muhammad Reza (20), Ahmad Sofyan a.k.a. Ambon (26 tahun), Faiz Ahmad Syukur (22), dan Muhammad Suci Khadavi (21).

Two other FPI members, Luthfi Hakim (25) and Andi Oktiawan (33) died in a different location during a shootout between FPI members and the police at Simpang Susun Street in West Karawang.
