TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Police (Polri) Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo in a written statement on Thursday announced the police’s special task force for the Bank Indonesia Liquidity Support (BLBI), which is tasked to collect lost state assets, has seized Rp5.9 trillion in state assets from a BLBI debtor that will later be returned to the government.
“Rp5.9 trillion is the value of the confiscated assets, security and physical possession of the obligor's assets,” the Police Chief said in a statement on January 27.
Apart from the BLBI assets, he said the police in 2021 had handled 247 cases of corruption with estimated total state losses of Rp442 billion.
He said this number is an 18.5 percent increase compared to 2020.
The National Police have also handled a plethora of criminal cases with 324 crimes related to illegal logging, 350 illegal mining, and 35 cases of fisheries theft. Out of the 557 cases in total, Listyo said Polri managed to solve 247 of them.
