TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno said Indonesian people do not need to travel far to Turkey to ride a hot air balloon. Three regions across the archipelago offer balloon rides.

“Who is dreaming of riding a hot air balloon with your spouse? Hmm… You must be a fan of the film series Layangan Putus. You don't have to go far to Cappadocia in Turkey to make your beloved's dream come true,” said Sandiaga via his Instagram account @sandiuno on Monday, January 3, mentioning a current popular web series.

“In Indonesia, we can find various tourist destinations that provide such tours of hot air balloons. Among them are in Bromo, Bandung, and Bali. Has anyone tried it before?” Sandiaga said.

The hot air balloon tour is available in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, East Java. In collaboration with Fly Tours and the Probolinggo government, the park management runs hot air balloon rides. Tourists will ascend about 50 meters into the sky and take in the view of Mount Bromo, Teletubbies Hill, Mount Semeru, and Mount Batok.

Meanwhile in Bandung, West Java, tourists can go up in a hot balloon air in Ciwidey and float above the green scenery of the hills.

The hot air balloon tours can also be found at one of the luxury resorts in Ubud, Bali. Tourists can experience hot air balloon rides over the Island of the Gods.
