TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conveyed their support for the newly formed Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortas) of the National Police. The commission said they are ready to work together.

KPK spokesman Ali Fikri said that Kortas is expected to be able to assist them as their counterpart in eradicating corruption. It requires cooperation from state institutions to eradicate corruption, he added.

According to Fikri, their support to Kortas is their goal as an anti-graft agency, as it supports every institution that is committed to eradicating corruption.

"Solid cooperation between institutions is the key that must be maintained," he said when contacted by Tempo on Tuesday, December 14.

The National Police have previously announced the forming of Kortas to prevent and prosecute corruption. The corps consist of former KPK employees that did not pass Nationality test (TWK) and they were appointed in accordance with Police Regulation No. 15/2021.

The Police Chief of Public Information Bureau, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, said Kortas will synergize with KPK and attorney to prosecute corruption.
