TEMPO.CO, Bandung - Bandung Mayor Oded M Danial passed away today afternoon, December 10, allegedly due to a heart attack.

Muhammadiyah Hospital director Kautsar Boesoiri confirmed that the Mayor died at 11:55 local time from a heart attack based on the results of the diagnosis.

Oded was initially scheduled to deliver a sermon for a Friday prayer at the Grand Mujahidin Mosque in Bandung city. However, he seemed to lose consciousness while performing the sunnah prayer.

Kautsar said that Oded was rushed to the hospital and received oxygen in the ambulance. “He arrived at Mujahidin by ambulance and went straight to the emergency room,” said Kautsar in a written statement released by the Bandung Government Public Relations on Friday, December 10.

Kautsar said the medical team had done their best by carrying out cardiopulmonary resuscitation yet there was no development in ten minutes.

“Even though there were signs [of no life], we are still trying, hoping for God's miracles. But God's destiny is different, he (Oded M Danial) was declared dead at 11:55,” he said.
