TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bogor Regent Ade Yasin said her regency had succeeded in producing 4,004 tons of robusta coffee in a year, exceeding the annual target of around 3,000 tons.

“Bogor is very rich in natural wealth. Its fertile lands can be used for agriculture and plantations. The agricultural systems and technology continue to yield results,” said Ade Yasin in Cibinong, Bogor, Wednesday, November 17, as quoted from Antara.

According to her, the regency’s target of the Robusta coffee production until 2023 is 3,726 tons per year.

Other than robusta coffee, farmers in the regency produced other types of coffee, including Arabica as much as 473 tons.

Robusta and Arabica coffee plantations, she went on, are spread across five sub-districts, namely Sukamakmur, Megamendung, Pamijahan, Babakanmadang, and Tanjungsari.

“We are the fourth-largest producer of robusta coffee in Indonesia and the number one in West Java,” she remarked.

However, Ade Yasin said there were still a number of problems surrounding the coffee farming sector, such as the lack of robusta coffee and nutmeg seeds for planting expansion and the application of cultivation technology that has not been optimal.
