TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, according to a press statement by the Presidential Secretariat, will inaugurate the Mandalika Circuit and the BIL-Mandalika bypass in West Nusa Tenggara on Friday.

The press statement also suggests the President will be granted the opportunity to try the new racetrack that is set to host the World Superbike (WSBK) race mid-November.

“The President is scheduled to personally try out the Mandalika Circuit on his personal race motorcycle before inaugurating it and the BIL-Mandalika bypass,” the President’s Secretariat wrote on November 12.

The President’s entourage departed this morning from the Halim Perdanakusuma Military Air Base in Jakarta to West Nusa Tenggara aboard the Indonesia-1 presidential plane.

In the afternoon, Jokowi will participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) virtual summit from the Novotel Lombok Resort and Villa, where he will stay the night before leaving the region tomorrow.

Jokowi is joined by State Secretary Pratikno, Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi, State-owned Enterprises Minsiter Erick Thohir, and Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia.
