TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The chief of National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) Lt. Gen. Ganip Warsito warned the Batu City administration to anticipate another flood.

“To anticipate another flood or rain, the people live around the Brantas River area must be evacuated to a safe location,” said Ganip in his statement on Friday, Nov 5

Ganip told Batu Deputy Mayor, Dewanti Rumpoko, via a short message that help and rescue of victims, people's evacuation near the river area, and another flood attack anticipation must become the priorities in the disaster mitigation.

The meteorology agency, or BMKG, forcasted that heavy rain with lightning and strong wind is potential to occur in East Java until today.
The BNPB chief also pushes for the regional government to make emergency posts and asks for coordination of related parties to mitigate the disaster.

According to Ganip, BNPB ensured that it will continue to distribute logistic needs to accelerate the flash flood mitigation in Batu City tomorrow.
