TEMPO.CO, Yogyakarta - Yogyakarta (DIY) Regional Secretary Kadarmanta Baskara Aji said the provincial government has not set or projected a special policy related to international tourists or migrants until date. The level 3 public mobility restriction or PPKM Level 3 was still in place in the province.

“Airports in DIY are not the main entry points for travelers from abroad,” said Aji on Sunday, September 19.

The airports are Adisutjipto Airport and Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA). “Adisutjipto Airport and YIA have not yet been opened to passengers from abroad. So they have not yet received direct arrivals from overseas,” he added.

According to Aji, foreign tourists could only enter Indonesia through special routes determined by the Transportation Ministry as noted in Circular Letter No. 74 of 2021 dated September 13, 2021.

The routes are Sam Ratulangi Airport in Manado and Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang. The sea lanes include Batam and Nunukan Ports in North Kalimantan. As for the land route, there are only the Cross-State Boundary Post (PBLN) in Aruk and Entikong in West Kalimantan.

Aji went on to say that since Yogyakarta was under PPKM Level 3, the odd-even traffic policy was applied every weekend to prevent crowds of travelers in tourist destinations.
