TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, is scheduled to officially close the Batam Wonderfood & Art Ramadhan on Saturday, March 30, 2024.
"The Minister plans to come to Batam to officially close Batam Wonderfood & Art Ramadhan at Dang Anom Park," said the Head of the Batam City Culture and Tourism Office Ardiwinata on Thursday.
Ardiwinata claimed the event was successful in attracting tourists and stimulating the creative economy sector and MSMEs.
"Alhamdulillah, plenty of foreign tourists visited the event so there was money circulation at the food bazaar," he said.
Ardiwinata said Batam Wonderfood & Art Ramadhan has been going on since March 9, 2024. "This is the fifth round of Batam Wonderfood & Art Ramadhan, this event always attracts foreign tourists," said Ardiwinata.
Some of the tourists came from South Korea, Turkey, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and various other countries.
Ardiwinata added that Batam Wonderfood & Art Ramadhan not only offer foods for iftar for those fasting in Ramadan but also many other activities.
“In fact, this location is often used for organizational meetings,” he said.
The event was inaugurated by the Deputy for Tourism Products and Activity Organization Vincent Jemadu. "Hopefully this continues to become a quality event, in the sense of providing an economic impact on society, a socio-cultural, and sustainable environmental impact. This event has been held for 5 years, an extraordinary achievement," he said.
