TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Travelers need to pay attention to a number of changes and adjustments to flight rules in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, particularly those willing to fly within Java-Bali regions.

Based on the Home Affairs Ministerial Instruction No. 38 of 2021 on level 4-2 public mobility restrictions (PPKM Level 4-2) in Java Bali regions, air travel within the islands is no longer required a PCR test as long as people have received a complete Covid-19 vaccination. However, they must present a negative test of rapid antigen test which is valid one day before departure.

Meanwhile, air travelers who only received the first dose of vaccines are still required to show the negative result of PCR test taken at least two days before departure. Travelers using private vehicles, motorcycles, buses, trains, and ships are only needed to present rapid antigen test result, which is valid one day before departure.

The policies apply to arrivals and departures from and to Java Bali regions. Those rules do not apply to transportation within the agglomeration area, for example, Greater Jakarta or Jabodetabek areas.

Traveling by plane to cities or regencies within Java-Bali needs a negative result of antigen test, which is valid one day before departure for people who have been vaccinated, and a negative result of PCR test valid two days before departure for people who only had one dose of Covid-19 vaccine.

Additionally, drivers of logistics vehicles and other transportation of goods are exempt from the requirement to have the Covid-19 vaccination certificate.
