TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - An earthquake measured at magnitude 5.2 on the Richter scale rocked the area of Tambolaka, West Sumba in the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on the early dawn of Wednesday, the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported.
According to the official report from the agency, the earthquake happened at 02:44 Western Indonesia Time (WIB) and with an epicenter 18 kilometers Northeast of Tambolaka sea at a depth of 28 kilometers.
The specific coordinates were 9.30 South Latitude - 119.32 East Longitude. The earthquake’s strength was at the III-IV modified mercalli intensity (MMI).
Just a few hours earlier, BMKG reported a magnitude 3.3 earthquake rocking East Nusa Tenggara’s Alor District on August 3 at 8.40 PM.
