TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The House of Representatives (DPR) Secretary-General Indra Iskandar confirmed that the self-isolation facility at the hotel only applies to House members, staffers, and state apparatus (ASN) within the DPR.

Indra said legislators’ family members could not use this facility. “(Members), including staffers and civil servants, without their families are the state's responsibility,” Indra told Tempo on Tuesday, July 27.

Indra said the self-isolation facility was determined following complaints from a number of House members in the Kalibata official residential complex, South Jakarta. They were worried about being exposed to the virus because there were legislators self-isolating in the complex.

The DPR Secretariat General also learned from other ministries and institutions that have provided such facilities in collaboration with three-star hotels. This had also been ruled in the Circular Letter of the Director-General of Treasury of the Finance Ministry No. 369 of 2020 and No. 308 of 2020.

According to Indra, the budget for the self-isolation facility at hotels was a contingency plan or had not been fully prepared. He said the DPR would relocate the unused budget. “It is not budgeted fully. But when needed, we will revise it. Every ministry/institution has Covid-19 budget now,” Indra said.
