Indonesia Covid-19 Update; 45,203 New Cases, 2,069 Deaths

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia continues to log high numbers of Covid-19 infections daily despite the government's movement curb policy. On Tuesday noon, July 26 the Health Ministry reported 45,203 new confirmed cases in the last 24 hours.

The positive cases came from testing 270,434 specimens. To date, Indonesia—now the pandemic's epicenter—has logged a total of 3,239,936 infections.

The daily count of Covid-19 deaths also remains high, with 2,069 people reported to have succumbed to the disease. Indonesia now has recorded total of 86,835 deaths related the new coronavirus.

West Java reported the most number of new infections with 8,589 cases, followed by East Java (6,337), Central Java (5,187), Jakarta (3,567) and Yogyakarta (2,732). Other provinces reported less than 1,000 new cases.
