TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The operating hours of the city’s mass rapid transit or MRT Jakarta will be adjusted starting Saturday, July 24. Acting corporate secretary Ahmad Pranomo said the operating hours during weekdays, Monday to Friday, would be at 06:00-20:30 Western Indonesian Time (WIB).
“On Saturday and Sunday or holidays, it will be at 06:00-20:00 WIB,” said Ahmad in a written statement on Friday, July 23.
The arrival gap between the trains or the headway will be at every ten minutes on weekdays and at every 20 minutes on weekends or holidays. Ahmad underlined that the number of passengers in each car would still be limited to a maximum of 65 people.
The time adjustment was enforced in an effort to curb COVID-19 transmission during the emergency public activity restriction or Emergency PPKM, which was recently renamed PPKM Level 4.
The change of the MRT Jakarta schedule was referred to the Jakarta Gubernatorial Decree No. 875 of 2021 and the Jakarta Transportation Agency Head’s Decree No. 259 of 2021.
