TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita on Thursday ensured that his office has put all of its efforts to meet the rising national demand of medical oxygen supply due to the Covid-19 surge.

They claim to have secured additional oxygen production and the procurement of ISOtank containers which will be used to supply oxygen to hospitals, along with oxygen containers and concentrators.

“For the meantime, we have secured additional oxygen production to a total daily supply of 2,622.9 tons, 132 ISOtank trucks, 15,906 oxygen tanks, 8,100 oxygen concentrators, and 9 deployable oxygen concentrator systems,” the minister wrote in a written statement on July 8.

He said this number will increase in the future as purchasing commitments and contributions from domestic industries are eventually realized.

“We have instructed domestic industries to ensure the medical oxygen supply that will be able to meet the medical demands. The contribution of industries for the healthcare sector in mitigating Covid-19 is expected in times like these,” said the Minister.
