TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) auctioned off five boats that were confiscated from Heru Hidayat, the suspect in the alleged corruption case at PT Asabri. From the auction, they got Rp27 billion.

The AGO's head of Legal Information Center, Leonard Eben Ezen Simanjuntak, said on Thursday, July 8, that the open-bid auction was held on July 2, 2021.

He said all net proceeds from the auction would be deposited into the holding account of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes. The money can be used as substitute evidence in the process of resolving the Heru Hidayat case.

As for the 12 ships that were not sold during the auction, Leonard said, they will be returned to investigators as evidence.

So far, the money acquired from suspects' confiscated assets has reached Rp14 trillion. Meanwhile, the state losses caused by the case is Rp22.78 trillion.
