Businesses Violating Emergency PPKM to Face Sanctions

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investments on Wednesday announced that many non-essential private businesses failed to obey the emergency enforcement of activity restrictions (Emergency PPKM).

“We will take firm action against these companies,” said the ministry spokesperson Jodi Mahardi to Tempo on July 7.

Many still ignoring the 100 percent work from home rule for non-essential sectors. The ministry, therefore, asked the Home Affairs Ministry to revise the regulation.

However, he did not reveal the details of the sanctions for the violators and told Tempo to ask the details to the Attorney General’s Office and the national police.

Jakarta Administration, on Moday, closed at least 59 companies that violated the Emergency PPKM, which is effective until July 20 across Java and Bali, following the high number of Covid-19 cases.
