TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government decided to enforce the emergency state of the public activity restrictions or Emergency PPKM in Java-Bali from July 3-20, 2021. Activities in all sectors will be regulated during the policy implementation, including transportation.

Domestic travelers who use long-distance transportation, such as planes, buses, and trains, must have been vaccinated for at least one dose. Travelers must present their Covid-19 vaccine cards for validation.

“I’d like to underline this, the purpose of this vaccine card is to prevent other people from contracting [Covid-19] from us or vice versa and to increase the number of vaccinated people,” said Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Pandjaitan, on Thursday, July 1, 2021.

Additionally, would-be air passengers are required to present the negative result of the PCR swab test taken at least 2 days earlier. Meanwhile, sea and land transpoprt passengers must just show an antigen test negative result that is valid one day.

Other public transportation, conventional and online taxis, and rental vehicles are allowed to operate with a maximum capacity of 70 percent under strict health protocols.

The Transportation Ministry spokesperson Adita Irawati said the ministry with the Covid-19 Handling Task Force and related ministries/institutions are drafting a circular on the travel requirements during the enforcement of Emergency PPKM.
