TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Senior Commissioner Azis Andriansyah said the mysterious shooting that occurred in Melawai last Saturday was not related to the Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) Budi Gunawan alias BG.

“No, it has nothing to do with BG at all,” Aziz confirmed on Tuesday, June 22.

Previously reported, there was a shooting in the residential area of high-ranking police officers on Jalan Professor Joko Sutono, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. The BIN Head is known to live in one of the houses in the area.

Aziz said his side is still hunting down the shooter. Investigators continue to review CCTV recordings at the scene to find the identity of the perpetrator's vehicle.

Until now, Aziz explained the police had only known the type of car used by the shooter. “(The license plate) has not been disclosed, we are still hunting down the perpetrators,” he added.

The video footage of the shooting went viral on social media. It showed that people in a car opened fire twice on Saturday night at a traffic light on Jalan Professor Joko Sutono, Melawai Village, South Jakarta.

There were no casualties in the incident. The police have checked 10 CCTV cameras at the location but only two are functioning normally. Besides, the police have also found two cartridges of a 9mm bullet used by the shooter.
