Anies Baswedan Sets Up New Covid-19 Isolation Centers

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan confirmed that low-cost apartments and other facilities are being prepared as additional Covid-19 isolation centers.
“Nagrak Cilincing low-cost flat, Wisma TMII, and Wisma Ragunan,” said Anies in Lapangan Blok S, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Sunday, June 13.
Anies said the sites will be set as isolation centers if the Wisma Atlet Covid-19 Emergency Hospital sees a surge in patients. The plan will be under cooperation with the central government and the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB).
“The backup plans have been prepared,” the former education minister remarked.
As of today, the isolation centers in the capital city have been 75-percent occupied. The occupancy rate increased dramatically when compared to that of last week at only 45 percent.
Additionally, the active cases of Covid-19 in Jakarta have also increased by 50 percent in the past week. Anies Baswedan outlined that last week, Jakarta had 11,500 active cases. As of Sunday, the number of active cases reached 17,400.
