TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan issued the Gubernatorial Decree No. 675 of 2021 regarding the controlled isolation centers for COVID-19 patients belonging to the provincial government. The site can accommodate 8,429 people.
The new policy amended the Gubernatorial Decree No. 979 of 2020. Anies signed the decree as the Chief of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force of Jakarta Province on May 31, 2021.
Other than for patients diagnosed with the new coronavirus disease, the centers are also set as lodgings for healthcare workers, according to the decree.
One of the considerations for the issuance of the policy is the National COVID-19 Task Force’s policy concerning the termination of financing for hotels, lodgings, and guesthouses as quarantine places for people who are confirmed to be positive of the disease.
The central government also halted the financing of lodging costs for health workers. Thus, the city administration ensured the legal certainty in the fulfillment of controlled isolation facilities as well as accommodations for health workers based on the previous gubernatorial decree.
As noted in the Gubernatorial Decree No. 675 of 2021 inked by Anies Baswedan, the lodgings for health workers are in SMK 27 Sawah Besar, SMK 57 Pasar Minggu, SMK 24 Cipayung, LPMP Jakarta, PKK Melati Jaya Building, and the Jakarta Islamic Center with a total capacity of 835 people.
