TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that based on talks with Bogor Mayor Bima Arya, Bogor still saw a low number of residents having the Covid-19 vaccines.
“I have a short chat with the Bogor Mayor and ask how many residents have been vaccinated,” said Budi while monitoring the vaccination for people with mental disorders (ODGJ) at Marzoeki Mahdi Hospital on Tuesday, June 1.
He said he would immediately send more vaccines to Bogor to increase the number of vaccinated people in order to achieve herd immunity.
According to him, Bogor could not be seen as a different region from Jakarta. “Because in the mapping of Covid-19 spread, Bogor is in the agglomeration area of Jakarta. Bogor is in the same cluster as Jakarta,” Budi explained.
As ordered by President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, the areas of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) should be prioritized for Covid-19 vaccinations.
Bogor Mayor Bima Arya, meanwhile, said the priority target for vaccine recipients is around 800,000 people and around 150,000 of them have been vaccinated or 18.75 percent.
The city administration asked the Health Minister to directly send the Covid-19 vaccines from Jakarta to Bogor given the geographical distance. “If the vaccines are sent to Bandung first and then Bogor, it will take longer time and be inefficient,” Bima said.
