TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The president director and director of cellular operator Telkomsel - subsidiary of state-owned communication firm Telkom Indonesia - are reportedly scheduled to be summoned by the Metro Jaya Police for Thursday, May 27.

According to information Tempo obtained, both Telkomsel president Setyanto Hantoro and Telkomsel director Edi Witjara are mentioned in official summons letters by the special crime directorate (Ditreskrimsus) No.B/4381/V/RES.3.3/2021/Ditreskrimsus and No. B/4382/V/RES.3.3/2021/Ditreskrimsus dated May 21.

It is believed that Setyanto Hantoro and Edi Witjara will be questioned by police’s special crime directorate as witnesses in an alleged corruption case which involves proposal submission for the new sales broadband Telkomsel synergy program.

Asked for confirmation regarding the information Tempo obtained, Metro Jaya Police spokesperson Grand Commissioner Yusri Yunus said he has not been informed about such summons and will have to look into it first. “I would need to check about that first,” he said.
