TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Head of the COVID-19 mitigation and national economic recovery, Airlangga Hartarto, said Monday the Health Ministry would soon set the price for the Gotong Royong vaccine used in the government's private vaccination program.
“The Health Ministry will soon issue a policy related to the price of the Gotong Royong vaccine,” said Hartarto in a virtual press conference on May 3. “The industry that will be prioritized is the labor-intensive industry.”
This program was first introduced by the government to overcome the budget limitations and increase the number of vaccinations by letting vaccines be bought by companies to supply COVID-19 vaccinations for its employees.
The Coordinating Economic Minister said the vaccine used for the program woud be the Sinopharm vaccine, as 481,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccine arrived in Indonesia from China on Friday noon last week on April 30.
More supplies are scheduled to gradually arrive in Indonesia up to July. He maintained that Sinopharm was committed to providing seven million doses with another optional seven million doses.
