Indonesia Covid-19 Update: 5,833 New Cases, 218 Deaths

TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Indonesia continues to record high numbers of new Covid-19 infections as the government continues to push vaccine rollouts. On Thursday, April 29, the National Covid-19 Task Force reported 5,833 more cases.
According to data from the Health Ministry as of 12:00 Jakarta time, today's new cases were obtained from testing 75,820 specimens.
Indonesia's total caseload has now reached 1,662,868. The novel coronavirus was first detected in early March last year.
The virus continues to claim lives. Authorities reported 218,177 more Covid-19 deaths, raising the death toll to 45,334.
