Mass Vaccination to Be Held until Next 6 Months, Police Say

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police Chief Fadil Imran hoped the ongoing mass vaccination to fight against Covid-19 at the public service areas can reach everyone.

Fadil Imran pointed at the mass inoculation held in South Jakarta's shopping center Kota Kasablanka. It does not only targetting those who work there, but also the people living near the location.

"The target is the workers in public service, such as those who work at MSMEs industry, and the senior citizens," the police said after monitoring the mass vaccination in Jakarta, Saturday, April 10.

Fadil said the Covid-19 vaccination at shopping centers is one of the attempts to success the mass vaccination for the public.

"We'll do this in the next six months, and we'll evaluate," he said.

The police added that the shopping center located in Tebet, South Jakarta, where the mass inoculation is held, has sufficient facilities.

"One of the best fit locations for a mass vaccination," he said, elaborating that the place is wide, has an observation, screening, and vaccination areas.

"It also has ICU chambers and emergency exit for an emergency event," Jakarta Police Chief added.
