TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said that the regional government along with the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police are determined to exercise their best efforts to secure the Good Friday celebration which falls on April 2, 2021.

“The authorities have made efforts. We support them in the upcoming Good Friday. Regional Police Chief exercises extra efforts,” said Riza at the Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday night, March 31, 2021.

The maximum security will be provided to a number of churches across the capital following the terror attack at the National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, committed by Zakiah Aini on Wednesday afternoon. The Deputy Governor condemned this act of terror.

The Gerindra politician said that the government together with the apparatus would try their best to prevent the terrorist attacks at the Makassar Cathedral and National Police HQ from recurring. He appealed to all church congregations to support each other in efforts to prevent acts of terrorism and other crimes.

“We support each other to create a safe, peaceful condition. Moreover, the Good Friday is coming,” Riza remarked.
