TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - The Tangerang Regency Government continued to push Covid-19 vaccination, targeting to vaccinate 15,000 people per day in an effort to curb virus transmission. Regent Ahmed Zaki Iskandar said his side encouraged all health networks such as regional hospitals, private hospitals, and health facilities to develop.

“With the adequate facility, Tangerang Regency can achieve the target,” said Zaki on Wednesday, March 24, hoping the vaccination program could run well.

According to him, Tangerang could complete the vaccination program in about 4-6 months with a target of 4 million residents.

A spokesperson for the Tangerang Regency Covid-19 Handling Task Force, Hendra Tarmizi, said 49,902 people have been vaccinated in the first stage of vaccination, while there were 30,649 vaccinated people in the second stage as of March 23, 2021. “The second stage is for health workers, elderly people, and public service workers.”

Hendra said the regency has surpassed the target of vaccinating health workers, totaling 13,072 people or 127.89 percent in the first stage and 112.45 percent in the second stage.

Meanwhile, 31,000 public service workers have received their first dose of the vaccine, or 83.1 percent of the total target of 36,277, while 19,404 or 52.1 percent have got their second dose. The task force's latest data also showed that the Covid-19 vaccination target for the elderly people hit 38.1 percent or 5,830 of the total 15,320 people.
