TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian National Police has named 6 suspects responsible for dismantling seven Covid-19 graves and snatching four bodies at a graveyard in Parepare City in South Sulawesi Province.

Citing Antaranews, police stated that “The suspects are secured at the Parepare Police headquarters and there are six people who dismantled and took the bodies who have family ties with the deceased bodies,” said the South Sulawesi Police spokesperson Gen. Comm. E. Zulpan.

The suspects are currently in police custody for further questioning and according to the police some of them had acted on requests from their relatives and parents of the deceased bodies who asked them to move the bodies of their relatives to a family-owned burial site.

While others are motivated by a dream they had about moving the bodies of their relatives to another location that is close to their loved ones.

Police confiscated pieces of evidence from the suspects that incriminated them and revealed that each had their roles to play in the scheme which was revealed after reports of Covid-19 graves having been dug up.
